Sorry I Forgot

I can’t say that I have ever sent a belated birthday card but there is always a need for one so when I saw this image from Bugaboo as last week’s freebie {still available until Friday}, he was definitely somewhat sad so I thought it was a perfect reason to make this card. I decided to use the current Sketch Challenge from Catch The Bug Blog {Bugaboo’s blog} to go along with this card.

The image was a bit hard for me to color as I simply have no browns in my Copic color stash yet. I did grab my E07, E31 and Colorless Blender and went to town. The balloon was fun and colored with BG18 and BG07. I then used my Signo Uniball and colored in the glare part of the balloon. The party hat is colored with R27, BG18 and Y18. Once I was done coloring the image, I used my Ink Blending Tool that I was hoping that it had some leftover Pumice Stone on it but apparently it was a bit more yellow. {Meh, it all worked out fine.} I definitely wanted to round the corner of the image and added that as a part of the card as well.

I grabbed some of my pieces from Simple Stories 100 Days of Summer that was still out from last week’s Bad Hair Day Card and on one side of the paper it had huge polka dots that I just grabbed my punch and punched out 6 different ones.

I then cut the background papers to fit my base card {A2 of course} and inked the edges of the circles with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.

The inside of the card is simply a piece of white cardstock with leftover strips from the front as well. I then used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on a white oval cut with my cardstock that is attached with foam tape with some glittery brads accenting the outer edge.

Hope you enjoyed this and might take a minute to come join in on the Catch the Bug Sketch Challenge.
