Random Layouts

This past week I have been so busy that I haven’t been able to carve out much ME time to scrapbook. I was able to complete the following two layouts though and hope to get back on a roll now that school is almost out (5 more days).

Another layout from our Road Trip to Austin, Texas. We stopped in Waco on the way back and had AMAZING food. I went back and re-used a technique from Glitter Girl on using up scraps by piecing together the top and the bottom strip with photos in between. I had done this before on a layout about My Girls for my wedding and it was easy to format down to an 8 1/2 x 11 and use up a ton of scraps.

Just a bit of washi and some buttons help make this layout complete.

For this layout, I started with the current Starting Point that Shimelle put on her blog this week. I combined a scrap of Studio Calico from the Abroad collection (love the polka dots) and then a strip from the Basic Grey Out of Print collection for the base. I layered it with a scrap from the My Minds Eye Happy Day collection {yellow), a jar cut from the American Crafts Dear Lizzy collection and a bit from Bazzill Basics Vintage Marketplace collection (blue).

Once I had the photos down, I kept layering in the bottom corner until I felt it was done. There is a lot of just random stuff from the heap of embellishments I have. A corrugated bracket leftover from a previous misting project, a sticker from Glitz Designs, a few brads, some twine around the jar, and a few random stickers as well.

Since I didn’t have enough of one type of Thickers for the title, I decided to just combine three and let it be. After a bit of pen work, it was done.

Now, here’s to hoping that some of my creative inspiration comes back as the days go on.
