Ready to LEARN more about Math Workshop?

Ready for some more? Layouts that is!

Are you ready for the end? I have finished up my Inspired by Shimelle challenge kit and I am so excited to not only have finished the kit, but to also show you how easy it is to work within a limited group of supplies.

All of these layouts are part of my recent Road Trip to Austin and I wanted them to be cohesive so not only did I decide on a smaller size (8 1/2″ x 11″) but I also went with hand-cut titles throughout. I do still have about 7 more layouts to finish from this trip and will share those with you as they are done in the coming days.

The reason behind this trip was to meet up with Lydia {@understandblue} and Christy {@cameaux} at Stamp Salado in Salado, TX for a Crafty Tweetup! We started the morning by taking a class together to create a mini album about Bluebonnets. It was so much fun although it was VERY time-consuming and I didn’t finish until I got home.

Loving working with the hand-cut titles and getting them all into place.

Our next stop was an amazingly yummy restaurant in Salado called Azalea’s. I had a to-die-for veggie wrap with a spicy chipotle sauce. Definitely will have to go back when we return. Again, more scraps used to make “strippy” layouts. Also focused on creating white space in this layout.

I wrote this title on some blue paper to make it pop. Since I did that I added some white accents to the black letters. LOVE IT!

Next up was another layout where I wanted to use the Pink Paislee paper but didn’t have enough for the entire background. Because of this, I grabbed a piece from my scraps and pieced together a background with a pop of color. Tissue tape came in handy on the back to hold it together and then the washi tape on the front to cover the seams.

To add some fun to this layout, I stamped three cameras in Close to My Heart Pacifica ink and then hand cut them out before popping them up near the top of the photos.

Loving this arrow stamp from the Heidi Swapp Memory File Collection. It totally adds a bit of punch when needed. You can find it below in the Amazon affiliate link.

Next thing I did made me excited. I wanted to jazz up my titles for the next layout and I had a bottle of Clear Luster Micro Beads laying around. I thought why not. So I created my title just like normal, cut it out, spread Glossy Accents and then covered it in the micro beads. Really like how it changed over time.

Since we hadn’t been back to the Austin area in almost three years, we both had places that we wanted to go so Saturday morning we did just that. He wanted to go to Cabela’s and I was headed to Archivers. Funny how a lot of the stuff I bought that day, I’ve already used up! 🙂

Here is a close up of the difference in the titles. I wanted my part to be the fancy part since I am a girl after all.

There is one more layout for this kit that didn’t get a photo taken as it was too dark when I finished. I will link that up later with the others as well.

Don’t forget to keep linking up each of your posts for the Inspired by Shimelle Challenge. The person who creates the most items between now and June 30th with their kit will receive a $25 gift certificate to 2Peas! All items must be linked up to be counted.
