Good Times Never Feel So Good…

Like I mentioned last week, Shimelle Laine is full of inspiration for scrapbooking. She continues to produce a new Starting Point regularly for scrappers to use as a base for a layout in their scrapbooking. No two ever look alike because of all the different combinations of paper and goodies in the world.

This week, I wanted to keep working on the wedding layouts to finish things up. I had two photos of our cake from our Wedding Party dinner the night before the wedding and used the colors in the photos from my husband’s Harley cake to pull for the layout.

I first grabbed an Orange sheet of cardstock from the Whitewashed Coredination’s Cardstock. I flipped it over and used the back side since I didn’t want to bother with sanding things down. I also grabbed an orange chevron from a Teresa Collins collection (reverse side had Poision labels from the Halloween collection), a brown diagonal plaid from Jillibean Old World Cabbage Stew and then random grey, brown, and white scraps from my stash that I used for the layers behind the photo.

After layering the papers behind the photos, it was time to embellish. I grabbed my Cameo and cut out the title for the layout and adhered it down. I knew that I wanted to do a bit more and added the corrugated bracket. I thought about adding some twine and wanted to do it in a different way so I grabbed my Sookwang 1/4” tape and cut down 4 pieces of Mandarin and Cappuccino twine from the Twinery to fit the lengths of tape and alternated them on the tape.

Just a bit more, I grabbed Studio Calico Opaque White Mister Huey and squirted it on a bit in places and then added my journaling over it. This came together quite quickly and simply and got me that much closer to being done with our wedding albums.

What is a big project that you have been working on? Where are you in the steps to getting the project finished?
