Full of Scraps!

Last week on “The Adventures of Glitter Girl” at 2Peas, Shimelle challenged viewers with different ways to use up their scraps. Knowing that I had a TON of scraps at home {that I have been using a lot of} I wanted to work with one of the strategies to make a new scrappy layout.

The first strategy that she gave was to use small strips to frame out a set of photos. I grabbed three vertical pictures from my wedding photos and then went through my stash to grab all the red, cream, and black scraps that I could find as those were my wedding colors and would match the photos.

All of my scraps were cut at 1″ x 4″ and tucked a bit behind the photos before I started to embellish. I loved the look of clustering objects and have really been working on that a lot lately. I also liked how she wrapped the twine around the bottom of the page to “tie” things together. I did the same with some twine from The Twinery. I just taped the ends down on the back to secure it.

This was one of my QUICKEST layouts recently as it came together in about 30 minutes. I love the look of it and am so happy to be working on more of my wedding layouts. We celebrate our 3 year anniversary in just a week and I am so excited! :)

Hi, there! I just discovered your blog a couple days ago, and I love it. This layout is adorable, but I’ve been enjoying flipping back through your most recent posts, and I really dig your style. In fact, I’ll be sharing your blog as one of my items for Inspiration Sunday on my own blog, and I’ll be looking forward to what you’re doing next.

P.S. Isn’t Shimelle just on fire with inspiration?? I LOVE her! :D
