Coffee Girl’s New Home

Friday afternoon as I was driving home my husband called me and told me that I was going to be very upset with him. First thing I was thinking is that he didn’t do laundry, take out the trash, etc. No big deal right?

Well, he was seriously upset that apparently during the day somehow my K Cup Carrier that I made for the guest post at Pocketful of Pink last week met it’s demise under his foot. He was DEVASTATED and I seriously told him it was okay. I wasn’t upset in any means because things happen. He went on to tell me that Coffee Girl was salvageable as well as the sentiment.

When I sat down to get crafty, I started to pull the Coffee Girl image {Melonheadz Illustrations} off the original box and pulled off the foam tape as well as the sentiment. I went through the challenges that I printed out and saw that the City Crafter Challenge was a sketch this week that would work just perfect with the image.

I pulled out my bits of scraps from the My Mind’s Eye Love Me Do paper and used the Pink Doily side as the background of my card. I then cut another scrap of the front side for the long strip that I tied with My Mind’s Eye twine from the Lime Twist Collection. I doodled around the edges with a Bic Ultra Fine Marker in Tuxedo Black {I seriously go through a TON of these markers!}.

The graph piece is another piece from my scraps that was part of the Basic Grey Hello Luscious Collection. The pink cardstock behind it was another scrap. I just put the three pieces of bling in the corner and called it done.

I knew it wasn’t done because I wanted to include the sentiment but didn’t have a true place for it on the front so I opened up the card and cut some more of the scraps that I had out and decorated the inside before I added the sentiment. I polished it off with more doodling with my Bic Ultra Fine Marker in Tuxedo Black.

All in all, I truly love this card and I am happy that I got to play along with the City Crafter Challenge this week once again.
