Challenges Galore!

This weekend was full of taking on some challenges {still have a few more I want to get done} and so I thought I would sneak in during the Love Me Do Blog Hop and share them with you today.

First up is the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge. I took a few liberties with this one as I did not add the scallop to the bottom and I put my text up on the main image instead but all in all it turned out very nice and the sentiment stamp is no longer VIRGIN WOOD!

Next up is the Card Patterns Sketch. When I saw the stripes in the background it reminded me of the card I made a week or so back for Skipping Stones Designs sketch challenge and I wanted to do something a bit different.

I just pulled out my Tim Holtz Paper Stash Kraft Resist Papers and knew that I could use a section of one of the pages and cut it into fourths and go over it with some of my Distress Stains. I keep going toward the Broken China and Vintage Photo {or another brown} combination in a lot of my cards as I really like it. I had originally used Antique Linen Distress Stains but it wasn’t dark enough so I went over those two sections in Vintage Photo Distress Stains.

I pulled out my EK Success Scallop Punch for the edge and used a scrap from a sheet of Bo Bunny Double Dot paper that I had used in a layout the other day {coming this weekend on the blog}. I wasn’t feeling the flower with this card so I added the bling once I had stamped my sentiment from an older Stampin’ Up set. The ribbon is also from Stampin’ Up as well {thanks Lydia!}.

The next challenge that I worked on was for Sketch Saturday. I liked the look of the square card but wanted to stretch it to an A2 card. I had cut a lot of the scallop black circles on my Cricut as well as the center circles for them. I inked it up in Broken China and was originally going to stamp a sentiment on it and then not put one in the bottom corner. That was until I was looking as some of the digital stamps that I colored on Friday and LOVED this little puppy from Melonheadz! I had colored it to look like our puppy Jake and knew it was so sweet.

I was trying to combine this with another challenge but it didn’t work out right {guess that means another card is in the future}. I pulled the ribbon from my stash to match the card and knew the sentiment I wanted to use right away, just wish the alpha had a question mark as well.

The last challenge that I worked on this weekend was for Hambo Digi Stamps. I had played along with their challenge last week and they sent me the sentiment stamp to use for free. Love this about the company! I will play along any day!

I knew I needed balloons on my card when I got it and that was when I went looking for when I found this cute clown with balloons on the Melonheadz blog. I am totally in love with her images as well as they coordinate with so many things. I did go with a square card on this one as it felt right and although the white space bugs me, it is what it is.

So four challenges done and many more to work on when I get time. Gotta love it! Don’t forget to check out the Love My Do Blog Hop going on right now with five talented crafters and feel free to check out my Etsy shop where I will be loading all of these cards and more! 
