A Friend Loveth…

Last night I sat down to work on the Sketch Saturday Challenge for this week. I knew I didn’t want to pull out my Cricut and cut an oval and since my Big Shot is MIA, I had to make a change for the middle section just to begin this card.

I started this challenge by pulling out a scrap sheet of white cardstock and my Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. I wanted to use a larger stamp so I went through my new Unity Itty Bitty stamps and picked out A Friend Loveth. I loved the size of the butterflies and how it gave me plenty of room to use my Copics and blend the colors.

After I colored in the images, I cut the rectangle down to 2 3/8″ x 4″ and rounded the corners with the 1/4″ end of my Corner Chomper. LOVE IT! I adhered it to a sheet of the red polka dots paper that I also used in the background that was only 1/8″ larger and rounded the edges of it as well. I made sure to leave one end up so I could feed the three strips of twine through a hole that I punched above the sentiment. I used Charcoal, Maraschino, and Pink Sorbet from The Twinery.

On the black base cardstock, I cut the strips at various sizes so they fit together in my given space. I mounted the stamped image and sentiment on the card with foam tape and added some doodling and rhinestones around the edges to take place of the flowers and sentiment.

I am also linking this up to the Card Crafter’s Circle Challenge of Valentine’s Love Hearts!
